This flare up occurred after a HIlT workout. March is endometriosis awareness month, throughout the month I will be sharing stories or moments from my Endo journey🎗️ This was part of my prep for Miss New York. I was working out to prep for the fitness category and found myself in deep pain after cardio workouts. I felt so defeated and was in SO much pain. With endometriosis, intense and high-impact workouts can trigger symptoms that increases inflammation and pelvic pain. I had to completely switch my prep and mindset to allow my body to still move and workout, but on the level and the movements that helped my Endo. Not fight against it. This was over a year after my Endo surgery💛 #endometriosis #endo #endometriosisawareness #endowarrior

Endo needs to ask for your help one more time. Last night I got a call about him not doing well there and was ready to put him down this morning. When I arrived he was normal but picky about what he eats. Looking at him, he says he isn't ready to give up. I believe he was starting to improve with the injectable dexamethasone. The kidney biopsy took a lot out of him, along with his stay at the hospital. I told them he wouldn't do well, so it's hard to say if everything is contributing to the uncertainty and behavior of him. He hasn't fully rested. Every noise is new and gets his attention. Vet staff agreed to give him a few days of aggressive, supportive treatment and if he does not improve, or starts to decline, we will call it. Today is my birthday and I don't want it forever a reminder of him passing and the second guessing of what if he could've recovered but just needed help. We have enough to start treatment and pay deposit of estimation on cost but it's hard to say if it will be enough. If you want to help, PLEASE DO! I'll post my Venmo QR in comments. It's not even a possibility that you have even half of the information to know what we should do. Thank you for trying to help but please stop contacting me by phone or email. I'm so exhausted. If you're bitter and get your daily dopamine fix by being cruel, go away. I'll block you instantly. We don't need your hateful discouragement. Thank you again to everyone who has been supportive by comments and financial help. This has been an incredibly ride and I'm forever grateful of being able to share and love this magnificent animal with you all.

Show of hands… how many of us do this!? 👋 (day 13 of endo awareness month) It’s so easy to say “i’m fine” when inside, it feels like our bodies are throwing a full-on tantrum. So why do we do it? why we mask: Many of us with chronic illnesses mask our pain because we don’t want to be seen as a burden. Oftentimes we’ve been dismissed, or we just want to feel ‘normal’. But masking can take a toll—both physically and mentally. a gentle reminder: It’s okay to admit when you’re struggling. As much as I want to ‘mask’ my pain, to not burden others, it doesn’t help relationally. Showing your pain (to the right people) doesn’t make you weak, and it doesn’t mean you’re complaining. Are you eating enough? 🍳 As a women’s health and endometriosis dietitian, one of the most common issues that I see is under-eating. This can be in total calories and/or specific nutrients. When we don’t eat enough calories and nutrients, it can lead to: ➡️ extreme fatigue ➡️ cravings ➡️ gut health issues ➡️ bloating ➡️ unwanted weight changes (yes, you can gain weight when under eating!) ➡️ fertility issues If you’re not sure if you are eating enough, here are some tools to help: 1️⃣ Try to go no longer than 4-5 hours between meals/snacks while you’re awake 2️⃣Include a source of protein, carbohydrates, fat and fiber at most meals and snacks. This helps with satiety, blood sugars, and ensures you get a variety of nutrients. 3️⃣Eating 1200-1500 calories per day is not enough for most women. Fueling adequately is important, especially when you are dealing with chronic inflammation. If you think you might be under-nourishing, it could be good to check in with a registered dietitian! Most insurance covers nutrition counseling (often for free!).
