There is a difference between Event Staff and Wedding Coordinator! Wedding Coordinators are responsible for the overall outcome of the event. Event Staff is responsible for designated tasks! Additionally, every vendor has an important role to play! A bar tender for example should be contracted to arrive early enough to set up their station and ice everything! This is not a Coordinator task! However this could be an event staffing task. We recommend not cutting corners with vendors. Cutting costs with vendors and delegating those tasks to your Coordinator can pull the Coordinator away from other important issues day of If you don’t care about logistics, timing and the fine detailing of your event don’t hire a Coordinator. Instead hire event staffing to help you complete the job that was not delegated to the original vendors! What do you mean Dee? Well, dinner service, cake cutting, bussing and kitchen clean up should be contracted through catering. Set up of tables and chairs can be done by rental company, decorator or venue. Trash management should be done by venue Florist should be contacted for transfers and floral strike. Catch my drift! Cutting those costs with vendors will just add up anyway because you will need event staff to complete those tasks. And taking those tasks and thinking your Coordinator has to do them all is not how you want to use your Coordinator! In fact if your Coordinator is saying YES to everything that can be a RED FLAG 🚩 Just like in the workplace you need a good manager! To ensure all moving parts are being efficient and goods and services are being delivered and in time. The Wedding Coordinator is there to see the final execution on behalf of the bride/couple or whoever planned the event. Just like you couldn’t imagine a bride day of taking out trash or cleaning up after guests is how you should see the Coordinator. However, what you do often see when there is no Coordinator is everything and everyone coming to the bride/couple for questions, what’s next, how to address an emergency! And that is where a Coordinator helps the couple relieve stress especially day of!
