Three weeks ago, before the Chhath Pooja, Delhi CM Rekha Gupta claimed the Yamuna river in Delhi is completely ‘froth-free’. The government released videos showing a froth-free Yamuna this year and compared it with the thick layers of toxic white foam under the AAP government. Peek TV’s reality check found that the Yamuna froth wasn’t actually cleaned up, it was only suppressed temporarily by constant chemical spraying on the river. Even three weeks after Chhath, the government is getting the same chemical sprayed throughout the day to make the river look clean.
