Yep! I gave the FTII & SRFTII JET exam and to call it hectic would be an understatement. Even though I feel that the pattern for a film school admission should not be based on a written paper, but I was pleasantly surprised by the subjective part of the paper, questions like “what is the role of an artist in the current social construct” got me to really think deep and hard. The exam happens once a year so my hopes are riding on this one, but whether I pass or fail whatever I learnt while preparing is extremely valuable and will always stay w me. #ftii #bombaysapphire #actorslife #hopeipass #turfcricket

Jaideep Ahlawat and Jyoti Hooda studied together at FTII, where Jaideep was Jyoti’s senior, and they shared an open relationship during their college days. After completing their course, Jaideep announced to his friends, including Vijay Varma, that he planned to marry Jyoti. The wedding date was finalised, and their close-knit group was excited as Jaideep was the first among them to get married. However, just weeks before the wedding, Jaideep received a career-changing opportunity to act in Priyadarshan’s film. Since the shoot clashed with his wedding date, the filmmaker asked him to postpone it by a week. Though this was a big moment in his acting career, his friends had already booked their train tickets and bought clothes for the occasion. When Jaideep informed them about the rescheduled wedding, they were deeply disappointed as they couldn’t afford to buy new tickets and, unfortunately, missed the celebration. The situation led to an emotional strain, and the friends didn’t speak for six to eight months. When they finally reunited, Jaideep broke down, upset that none of his friends had attended his wedding. Vijay recalled how, after a few drinks, Jaideep began howling, feeling betrayed, and in response, the entire group ended up crying with him. Despite the setback, Jaideep has always valued his wife, Jyoti, for standing by him through his journey as an actor. He acknowledged in an interview that spouses of actors rarely get the spotlight but play a crucial role in their partners’ success. He expressed deep respect for Jyoti’s patience and support, stating that he had never let her down as a husband. This phase of his life not only tested his friendships but also reinforced his appreciation for the sacrifices and understanding required in the life of an actor’s partner.
