You've been told that your family makes "too much" for financial aid 💰 You're in the middle-class trap: too much income for aid, but not enough to write a check for $40K+ per year. So you skip FAFSA altogether. Why bother when you won't qualify, right? Here's the problem: You're missing out on thousands of dollars in scholarships that require FAFSA completion - even if you don't qualify for need-based aid. Many merit-based scholarships, institutional grants, and private scholarships require FAFSA as part of their application process. They're not checking if you qualify for aid - they're using it as a screening tool to see who's serious. Here's the truth ✨ There are so many ways to pay for college outside of traditional financial aid. Merit scholarships. Essay competitions. Awards for specific talents, majors, community service. The money is out there - you just have to know where to look and how to position your student strategically. That's exactly what families inside The Scholarship System learn. It's why they've secured over $16.5 million in scholarships. When families have a clear roadmap, students show up differently. Confident. Motivated. And that's when scholarships start rolling in. 👉 Comment "UNLOCK" below to join the Scholarship System and give your student the plan they deserve to graduate debt-free.

College costs create more anxiety than almost any other part of the admissions process, largely because pricing and financial aid are misunderstood. In this essential conversation, Jacques Steinberg, New York Times bestselling author of The College Conversation, and Lee Coffin, Vice President and Dean of Admissions & Financial Aid at Dartmouth College, explain how colleges actually determine affordability, how financial aid works behind the scenes, and how families can make informed, realistic decisions without panic or sticker shock. It was January of this year when I got the call. I was waiting in the pick up line to get my son from school. I had long day at work, and I couldn’t wait to pick him up and go collapse on the couch. But then my phone rang. It was the school that we had applied to for kindergarten, and I couldn’t breathe. I was scared to answer, and at the same time I couldn’t answer quickly enough. And then “We are so happy to welcome you to our family here!” it was one of those moments I’ll never forget. Kind of like that moment I found out I got early admission to UPenn and still remember like it was yesterday 😍 I started crying… happy tears. And then, she said the part that changed everything. “But unfortunately we aren’t able to offer you any financial aid.” 😳 The tears stopped as I did the mental math. $30k. “Meredith, are we still connected?” 😐 There was no way. …Or was there? This was the moment that changed it all for me. Self-pity turned to anger. I could feel the fire in my chest. The disbelief that I work so freaking hard, and yet we still couldn’t afford it. It didn’t make sense. WTF was I doing? And that moment was my “enough is enough” moment. And it ended up changing the trajectory of my entire life. ✨ I’m curious… have you had this kind of “enough is enough” moment yet? What did it mean for you?

The University of Notre Dame is making some big changes to its undergraduate financial aid program. The university announced Wednesday, March 18, that families with an annual income of below $150,000 will receive "need-based financial aid" that covers the cost of tuition. In addition, families with an annual income below $200,000 will receive financial aid that covers half the cost of tuition — and most students from families with an annual income below $60,000 will receive financial aid that covers tuition, fees, housing and food.

Scammers are stealing people's identities, often through data breaches, to apply for online college classes. Once they apply for financial aid and get the money, they disappear. It's a sophisticated scheme and community colleges are often targeted because of their open enrollment policies. @dankrauth reports.

For Ohio businesses to thrive, they need a well-educated workforce. When I took office, around 40% of Ohio's highest-achieving high school students were leaving our state to pursue higher education elsewhere. That's why we created the Governor's Merit Scholarship, which offers financial aid to the best and brightest Ohio graduates who choose to stay in Ohio to get their degrees. In the Class of 2025 alone, an extra 1,600 of our top students stayed in Ohio for college! 2026 State of the State Address: Watch: https://bit.ly/4b4cD89 Read: https://bit.ly/40VIgdV

Can you squeeze more money out of your college offer? Comment SQUEEZE for our free quiz. 👇 Some families get $5K, $10K, even $15K more in financial aid just by asking. But most families never ask. Why? They’re afraid it’ll hurt their kid’s admission. Or reduce what they’ve already been offered. Or make the school think they’re ungrateful. None of that happens. Schools expect families to appeal their financial aid awards. They have processes for it. If you have a legitimate reason (better offer from a similar school, change in circumstances or information that your financial aid forms didn’t ask about), asking is strategic. You’re making a $200K+ decision. You’re allowed to advocate for your family. Comment SQUEEZE for the free quiz to see if you have a case. #financialaid #appeals #collegecosts #payingforcollege

I just found $1,847 my university has been sitting on 💰 Not a refund I applied for. Not financial aid. Money they OWE me that I didn’t know about. Here’s how I found it: I downloaded every tuition bill from the last 2 years and went line by line. Your turn: Step 1: Download ALL your tuition bills (student portal) Step 2: Look for: - Lab/course fees for dropped classes - Fees for facilities you don’t use - Duplicate charges (same fee twice) - Auto-renewed items you cancelled elsewhere Step 3: For each questionable charge: - Find university policy online - Screenshot the policy - Note the date you dropped/cancelled/etc Step 4: Email student accounts: “I’m requesting a fee audit for charges that may not apply to my enrollment status. [List each with dates and policy reference]. Please review and advise on refund eligibility.” How much have you overpaid? Most people never check. — ⚠️ This is my personal experience. Your university’s policies will differ. Always verify with your student accounts office. Newsom knows if the true scale of fraud in CA comes to light, his presidential campaign is over. That’s why he’s pushing legislation to hide High-Speed Rail records. We already know about $32 billion in EDD fraud, billions with SNAP/Medi-Cal, and millions in financial aid.
