KI🇰🇷I’ve been living in Korea for 6 years, and this is a trend I’ve noticed:
Here, the idea of being “with someone” is very popular.
People who are single are often treated with suspicion, and others quickly try to find them a partner or push them to start looking for one.
After coming out of a 7-year relationship, I started to feel like I was “broken.”
I tried going on dates and realized that most people on dating apps are looking for relationships because of their own emptiness.
When I asked, “Why are you looking for a relationship?”
Many answered, “I’m just bored” or “I feel lonely.”
These people became a mirror for me.
I asked myself: do I have emptiness inside me too?
I realized that my life is bright and full.
But I don’t want to build a relationship just to “fill a void.”
And I don’t want to be someone’s entertainment.
Often, people can’t build healthy relationships because they have many inner conflicts and don’t understand who they really are.
But if you don’t know yourself, how can another person know you?
Sadly, many people couldn’t even answer a simple question like,
“What do you like?”
They would say, “Lying on my bed after work and watching OTT.”
Sorry, but I don’t agree to relationships like that.
It’s better to be alone when you can fill yourself.
And I want to share my energy only with those who can give something back.
Loneliness is a global problem, and it appears when you don’t understand yourself.
So let’s start by building a healthy relationship with ourselves, not with others.
