I did not plant it and it looks way healthier & stronger versus my seedlings. I truly love that. Not everything has to be planned in the garden and in Life in general, leave room for the unexpected 🌱 A garden is a platform of education & teachings, I’m sharing with you this new format « Food for thoughts » in which I will share with you some personal reflections about what I can observe in a garden and how it can resonate & translate in our Life in general. I know it 🫠 If food is constantly on your mind & control is out the window: it's not always because you are hungry! 👉🏽It's your lower brain. 🧠 It is a master of seeking pleasure, comfort, & survival. Often, this means food thoughts.. especially if restriction of food groups is involved! 👎🏽The more you try to suppress these urges, the louder the "food noise" can get. 5 ways to quieten food noise👇🏽 1️⃣ Ice Trick: When a strong urge to eat hits, put an ice cube on your wrist/temple🧊 The intense cold is a quick, sharp sensation that can interrupt the neural pathways of a craving, giving your logical brain a moment to catch up & make a more conscious decision. 2️⃣Somatic Tapping: Somatic taps involve tapping on specific pressure points to calm the nervous system👣 When food thoughts are overwhelming, try tapping the sides of your feet together. This simple, rhythmic motion can be incredibly grounding & can help reduce anxiety or emotional triggers. 3️⃣Scent Anchor: Our sense of smell is strongly linked to memory & emotion👃. Find a scent you find calming or grounding,like a citrus essential oil or a fresh herb & keep it nearby. When you feel a craving, take a deep breath of the scent. This can help shift your focus & anchor you in the present moment. 4️⃣Imagery (Ride the Wave): Instead of fighting a craving, visualize it as a wave. Acknowledge that the feeling is intense, but also understand that it will peak and then subside. Imagine yourself riding the crest of the wave & then coming safely back to shore🌊 This visualization helps you tolerate the discomfort without acting on it. 5️⃣ Brain Dump Journal: Your brain is a thought processor, not a storage unit. When food thoughts are swirling, grab a notebook and write down every single thought📝 "I want a cookie. I should not have a cookie. Why am I thinking about this?"
