FLJust serviced the air can on this Specialized Genie shock from a Gen 4 Levo — a pretty rare sight on the bench.
The Genie runs two positive air chambers. Early in the travel both are active for grip and sensitivity. Deeper in the stroke one chamber closes off, shrinking the air volume and adding ramp-up to prevent harsh bottom outs.
But because there’s a lot happening inside this air sleeve, the 50hr air can service is super important. Fresh grease keeps the seals moving freely so the chambers can open and close the way they’re designed to.
