YAChristian Dior’s legendary Junon gown (Fall/Winter 1949) — one of the most iconic couture dresses ever created.
Inspired by Juno, the Roman goddess, the skirt was built from hundreds of ombré silk-tulle petals, layered like peacock feathers to create unreal movement and depth.
Every petal was hand-shaped, hand-dyed and hand-beaded by Maison Rébé, while the bodice featured intricate sequin embroidery.
This wasn’t just a dress.
It was craftsmanship at the highest level of couture.
The original masterpiece is now preserved at The Metropolitan Museum of Art.
Dior recreated it for Natalie Portman at Cannes 2023, but fashion lovers still agree…

E così è stato anche in occasione dell’Haute Couture Week parigina, iniziata questa mattina - lunedì 26 gennaio 2026 - con l’atteso show di Schiaparelli.
Per l’occasione, la Global Editorial Director di Vogue è volata nella capitale francese dove, di rientro presso il suo hotel dopo aver visionato i nuovi capi presentati da Daniel Roseberry, è stata avvisata in compagnia della moglie di Jeff Bezos, Lauren Sanchez, anche lei presente da Schiaparelli per la prima importante sfilata della giornata.

Any self-respecting fashion week cannot be considered started unless Anna Wintour is in the city, as well as in the front rows of the most prestigious international fashion brand. And so it was during Paris’s Haute Couture Week, which began this morning with Schiaparelli’s eagerly awaited show.
For the occasion, Vogue’s Global Editorial Director flew to the French capital where, returning to her hotel after the new collection presented by Daniel Roseberry, she was notified along with Jeff Bezos’s wife, Lauren Sanchez, who was also present at Schiaparelli’s fashion show.

Bei der ersten Chanel-Show im Jahr 2019 nach dem Tod von Karl Lagerfeld brachen Virginie Viard und viele Models in Tränen aus. Jahrzehntelang hatte Karl jede Show mit seiner ikonischen Präsenz beendet - doch diesmal blieb sein Platz leer. Ein Verlust, den die Modewelt noch immer spürt.
