THreal cost of living in Paris as an HEC student - no fluff, just numbers
🏠 rent: €699 (studio on campus, utilities included) 🧺 laundry: ~€50-60/month (€3 wash + €1 dry, 4x/week) 🛒 groceries: ~€180/month (€45/week, high protein diet) 🚇 transport: <€50/month (free HEC shuttles + occasional ubers) 🍽️ eating out: ~€100/month (trying to stick to this lol) 📱 phone: €9/month (lebara) 🛍️ misc: ~€100/month
💶 total: €1,100-1,200/month 💰 after CAF (french housing aid): €900-1,000/month
things that are expensive: ubers, eating out, OTC medicines, some grocery items things that are cheap: wine, yogurt, basic staples where I don’t compromise: experiences. site seeing, movie nights, weekend trips - that’s what I’m here for budgeting hacks I use:
fixed budgets for groceries, eating out, transport
1. split money into different bank accounts
2. keep savings in Indian account (harder to transfer = less impulse spending)
3. use CAF money to offset costs
I have scholarships running but even then, you need to be smart. Paris is doable but you can’t be careless with money.
