From Samoan language classes to Hawaiian, Kuki Airani, and Siva, the centre was filled with an upbeat, joyful spirit. Our very first Gagana Samoa classes were a HIT — it was so awesome hearing the kids confidently practising what they had just learned 🥹🙌🏾 A massive meitaki ma’ata to all of our teachers for showing up with so much love, patience, and cultural wisdom. We are so grateful for you ❤️ Don’t forget — TONIGHT is Tongan Tuesday! 🇹🇴 🗣️ Tongan language classes 💃🏽 Faiva classes 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Open to everyone! 📌 Registrations are essential

When we look back at that night, what stays with us isn’t the lights or the program it’s the people. The parents who trusted us. The kids who committed. The team who gave their time and heart. Key Points: Composer: Iiga Tafuna’i Kuresa. Origin: Composed while Kuresa was serving the London Missionary Society (LMS) in Suva, Fiji. Theme: A celebration of Samoa, urging preservation of its inheritance, dignity, and pride. Classic, traditional Samoan songs translated into English - PROPERLY! 🤣 Rewritten slightly to maintain the integrity and true meaning of these classics, but at the same time, attempting to breathe life into them and bring a more modern feel to these traditional Samoan songs. So shout out to my mum who has been helping me out with the translations. 🤣 My 1st single is now available on all streaming platforms - a modern take on a RSA Band classic - Lamepa Susulu. Last night I received several messages from the west side of O‘ahu, and my heart is full. To witness Hawaiian music continuing to thrive in the hearts of the younger generation is already a blessing. But to hear that one of my compositions was chosen and represented in a 1st place win in the Hawaiian language category… I’m deeply grateful. I’ve simply showed up over the years, to sing, to write, to stay committed to the culture and the language. If anything, this feels like a reminder that the seeds planted quietly and consistently will grow in their own time. All glory to God. Congratulations, Class of 2028. The future is bright.
