I believe that moving our bodies everyday, keeping our brains active, following a healthy balanced diet, having a purpose in life and laughing ~ there’s gotta be a lot of laughter ~ are basic keys to our mental and physical health. Life is so short ~ we just never know what health issues both mental & physical are coming down the pike. Being proactive about how we take care of our bodies can help us cope with whatever life is going to serve us. Life is not all sunshine and unicorns. Some days suck. Everybody farts. Some people toot more than others. Some people hold them in and let them go in their sleep. The average (and there are several ranges) is 10-23 breaking wind events a day. Gum chewers, bubbly drinkers, people who drink with straws, or even chewing with your mouth open can cause more air to be swallowed & trapped in your GI. More air = more butt blasts 💨 Walking can help move that air out. Some people have gas attacks after foods like broccoli, cabbage & cauliflower. Others have problems with beans, diary or high fibre foods. Everyone is different. If you are bum blasting way above average an RD can help you target the problem. GI issues can be a pain in the butt. Here are three of my favourite RDs who specialize in GI issues @ignite.nutrition.inc @desireenielsenrd @theguthealthdoctor And check out @thestomachdoc he’s got great tips to help with GI issues. Bottom line ~ there’s often a dietary solution ~ but it takes time to narrow down the culprit or culprits. And…. Here’s a gentle reminder that getting a colonoscopy could save your life. Early detection is key. And…. I can’t emphasize the value of a good #fartwalk™ enough ~ it’s great at helping move that trapped air or gas out of the building aka your gut.
