Late 1960s. The crowd roars. The lights blaze. And there’s Jimi Hendrix — not just playing guitar, but bending the laws of music itself. He leans forward, grips the neck, and bites down on the strings. Notes scream into the night, raw and electric, like lightning captured in sound. This wasn’t just a party trick. It was rebellion. It was showmanship. It was a declaration: Music is what you make it. Rules are just starting points. Hendrix didn’t just play the guitar — he became part of it. Every flick of his fingers, every twist of the whammy bar, every tooth-picked bend told the world, “Don’t wait for permission to create. Don’t wait for someone to show you the right way. Make your own way.” He wasn’t the fastest or the most technical player alive — but he was the most fearless. And that fearlessness changed music forever. Playing with his teeth wasn’t about gimmicks. It was about going all-in, committing 100%, showing that art comes from the soul, not from the rulebook. And maybe that’s the reminder we need today: greatness isn’t in playing safe — it’s in daring to look ridiculous while chasing something beautiful. So whether you’re holding a guitar, a paintbrush, a pen, or a dream nobody else believes in — take a note from Hendrix. Bite down. Play your truth. And don’t stop until the crowd can feel it in their bones. ⚡️ ⚡️ ⚡️ @no1stretchstrap is the best strap you can get. It’s all I wear. THEM HENDRIX BLUES - Jimi Hendrix performing “Red House” at Atlanta Pop Festival in 1970. This clip has BLUESPOWER written all over it as Jimi beautifully delivers the classic lyrics while splicing in electric blues licks between bars. Also, his use of the whammy bar is superb here. The pull off section towards the end, intensified by the whammy, is truly incredible. “Red House” is a song written by Jimi Hendrix and one of the first songs recorded in 1966 by the Jimi Hendrix Experience. It has the musical form of a conventional twelve-bar blues and features Hendrix’s guitar playing. He developed the song prior to forming the Experience and was inspired by earlier blues songs. This is a very intricate song that demonstrates Hendrix’ mastery on guitar. It’s one that earned him the respect of many musicians, including Billy Gibbons of ZZ Top. Gibbons says he was “completely turned upside down” when he heard it. Enjoy

The Jimi Hendrix Experience- The Wind Cries Mary (Monterey Pop Festival 1967) Jimi wrote this in 1967 for Are You Experienced?; it was inspired by his girlfriend at the time, Kathy Mary Etchingham. He'd gotten into an argument with her about her cooking. She got very angry and started throwing pots and pans and finally stormed out to stay at a friend's home for a day or so. When she came back, Jimi had written "The Wind Cries Mary" for her. Kathy Mary recalled, "We'd had a row over food. Jimi didn't like lumpy mashed potato. There were thrown plates and I ran off. When I came back the next day, he'd written that song about me. It's incredibly flattering." (Source Q magazine February 2013) #jimihendrix #rocknroll #60s #1960s #hendrix

Little Richard gave crucial early exposure and support to artists who later became giants. In the early 1960s, his tours and shows featured young acts like The Beatles and The Rolling Stones, who studied his stagecraft and energy up close. A teenage Jimi Hendrix played in his backing band, learning showmanship firsthand. James Brown and Otis Redding also benefited from Richard’s guidance, touring circuits, and example during their formative years. Beyond those direct connections, later icons repeatedly named him as their primary influence. Michael Jackson, David Bowie, and Prince all cited Little Richard’s voice, flamboyance, and stage presence as foundational to their own styles. 📸 @littlerichardmusic . #rocknroll #theking #thebeatles #jimihendrix

HEY JOE JIMI HENDRIX LIVE AND AMAZING Hendrix being the guitar god that he was. In the world of rock and roll, few could touch the amazing sounds that Jimi could get from his guitar. If you are lucky enough to have some of his original vinyl records, there is no better artist that sounds this good on vintage vinyl. Especially if they have some hiss, crackle, and pops! A riff carved straight out of the cosmos. Jimi Hendrix performs “Purple Haze” during the Atlanta International Pop Festival at Middle Georgia Raceway on July 4, 1970. Trivia: Jimi Hendrix was discharged from the U.S. Army in 1962 after breaking his ankle during a parachute jump with the 101st Airborne Division. Before his discharge, he completed 26 jumps and was officially a trained paratrooper — something he later joked helped him “fly on stage” instead. Before he became a global icon, Hendrix worked as a touring guitarist for several major acts including Little Richard, The Isley Brothers, and Curtis Knight. He was fired from Little Richard’s band for “upstaging” the star with his wild playing, flamboyant clothes, and irresistible stage presence. Hendrix created his signature tone by combining a Fender Stratocaster, a Dallas-Arbiter Fuzz Face, Univibe, and a Marshall Super Lead amp — a setup that changed rock guitar permanently. Despite his enormous influence, Hendrix released only three studio albums during his lifetime. Even with such a short career, he is widely regarded as the most important electric guitarist of all time.
