It’s Not Your Body. It’s Your Jeans. For my pear and hourglass shape ladies! If your jeans fit your hips but gape at the waist… or fit your waist but feel tight through your hips, there is a reason. It comes down to proportion. If you carry more through your hips or thighs and have a smaller waist, most standard denim cuts are not designed with that shape in mind. That’s where the right cut changes everything. A cinch waist detail that brings the waist in without pulling across the hips. A barrel leg that creates space where it is needed, then tapers so you still feel shaped. Same body. Different fit. If you are straighter through the body, the cinch can create shape. If you are taller, the barrel can feel balanced and intentional. It always comes back to understanding your proportions and choosing pieces that work with your body. It’s not your body. It’s the cut of the jeans. I’m wearing a size 10 and I’m 174cm for reference. It didn’t take me long to realize I had overdeveloped my back by blindly following a routine I found online that claimed to be “balanced” … spoiler: it wasn’t. I had to get leaner (i’m leaner in the first video btw) to actually realize that my back is not wide because of fat it’s wide because of what i’ve been doing at the gym. All I wanted was an hourglass figure. Everyone talks about growing your lats for that shape, but nobody tells you that overtraining them without balance just gives you an inverted triangle. That’s exactly what happened to me. So I stopped following routines that weren’t made for my body and rebuilt my program around MY weaknesses. same intensity, just smarter. In one year, I went from wide and unbalanced to the shape I actually wanted. If your back looks too wide and you think it’s genetics, it’s not. It’s your lats. A mix of lats and upper traps taking over is possible. And it’s fixable.
