Will you stop and say hi? 🥺❤️‍🩹 Behind the kennel glass are dogs who spend their days watching people walk by, quietly hoping someone will notice them. 💔 We know not everyone can adopt right now, and that’s okay. But there are still small ways to help these sweet faces get the love and attention they deserve. 🙏 Sharing this post helps them reach the right person. Sending a treat or a toy brings comfort to a long shelter day. ♥️ Even leaving a simple “hello” in the comments helps their faces reach more people. Sometimes, that small act is all it takes for a life to change. 🙏 Meet Scout, Ramen Noodle, Francine, Sampson, Tiger, Stacy, Dasher, Mr. Man, and Benjamin who was adopted right after we filmed this! When Nina came into Maui Humane Society, it wasn’t clear at first if she was injured but she had no fresh wounds, they were all old scars and most were healed or healing. She was found as a stray and nobody came to claim her. So far she has been dog friendly, does not like cats and is friendly with people and loves her toys! Nearly 60 animals have been rescued from unsafe and unsanitary living conditions at a home in Poulsbo, according to the Kitsap Humane Society. Animal control officers seized dozens of dogs, cats, and a pig from the property on Tuesday after receiving an anonymous report alleging the home was overrun with animals, many in poor condition. Authorities said the report prompted them to quickly obtain a warrant to remove the animals. “The only word I can think of is deplorable,” said Jamie Nocula, executive director of operations for the humane society. “There were animals inside the home and outside the home in varying conditions. Earlier this week I was notified about a dog who had wandered into someone’s garage to give birth. She delivered her puppies in a small corner of the garage..an area that wasn’t meant for a mama dog to bring new life into. We immediately began working to help, but unfortunately the homeowner panicked and called animal control. Mama Noelle and her newborn puppies were taken to Barstow Humane Society, several hours away from us. While they were safe at the shelter, we knew that wasn’t where we wanted this family to stay. We moved fast. We posted, you shared, and pledges started coming in to help attract a rescue. @blondieveganfoodie contacted @hollywood_huskies and when they saw mama Noelle and her babies they stepped up without hesitation. Around the same time, an incredible foster @ravelala444 (herself a husky mom) also saw the post and felt called to help. Because everyone worked together so quickly, @blondieveganfoodie was able to secure a transporter on extremely short notice. Sadly one of the puppies passed away last night (the only girl & the sweet runt of the litter). She flatlined at the hospital & after everything she had already been through they made the compassionate decision to honor a DNR. Sometimes, despite everyone’s best efforts, these tiny lives are just too fragile. Rest in peace, little angel. You were loved you were fought for and you mattered 🌈🐾 This loss also means the rescue is already facing a veterinary bill and there will be more medical care needed for mom and the remaining puppies moving forward. Oh Sarge 💔 He may be big, but Sarge is just a sweet boy who is missing his family 🥺 3-year-old Sarge came from a breeder and lived with his family most of his life. Sadly, his owner was called to military duty and had to make the difficult decision to surrender Sarge to our shelter 😔 Now, Sarge is heartbroken, and cries and paces in his kennel 💔 Sarge is a very friendly, loveable, and well-behaved German Shepherd. He’s intelligent and active, loves to play ball, and enjoys all people and dogs ❤️ It is unknown how he is with cats. Sarge loves it when we come say hi to him, and will press up against the door to get closer to us 🙏 You may notice that Sarge has an abnormal gait to his walk ❤️‍🩹 X-rays were taken by our veterinary staff which showed evidence of mild hip dysplasia and arthritis on both back legs. We recommend keeping Sarge at a healthy or lean body weight to avoid strain on his joints. Sarge was started on a joint supplement to help support joint health in the shelter. In the future, he may need additional care to support his arthritis like pain medication, acupuncture, etc. Will you please give this handsome fellow the second chance at love he so desperately needs? 🙏 Please head in to meet Sarge today ❤️ If you cannot adopt, please share for him 🙏 To meet Sarge, please start by submitting an application on our website (link is in bio). They chose to do this in the home of the man who has put paramilitary troops on our streets, is taking $ from ALL OF US, taking over countries and destroying DEMOCRACY. Why don’t they just have dog killer Noem up as their next spokesperson?!? She’ll be looking for a job soon. Here’s the thing - there are SO many amazing local animal shelters and sanctuaries doing the hard work. And they REALLY need the support. Find a local shelter and help them out instead! Here’s a couple I know of that could really use your donations instead: @mikosrescuemission @wildlingsforest Know a local shelter you would like to give a shout out to? Please drop their name in the comments! Don’t worry about the Humane Society they’ll be fine - they have the republican $$. This is like watching a hero you idolized as a kid turn into the villain from every show you watched. I loved the humane society when I was a kid and signed up for their mailings, donated, etc. NEVER again. Wow. I’m repulsed, I’m confused, I’m sad and I’m angry. Her nervous system was overwhelmed. New smells. New sounds. New environment. No familiar body. So she cried. And then something simple happened. She was held.
