Everyone asks about the @ilve_usa stove. (Hiii APM’s) Ever since we got the house I pictured a big 7 burner against that brick wall, but figured it would be something we purchased a few years down the road, not right away. However, we got possession of the house, and we’re just confronted with so much ick on the appliances. Broken eggs in the fridge, the freezer didn’t work, spilled wine, the wall ovens looked like they had never been cleaned. Then… the range. I literally put on gloves and scooped grease. Discovered mice had nested under the stove, and after cleaning and cleaning… 2 of the burners didn’t work. Not only that, when plumbers came out to work on other parts of the house one of them looked at the stove for me and said it smelled “bad gassy” and he wouldn’t use it. So out to the yard it went. I had a good breakdown cry, said a few obscenities, and got to work picking out a big range. Decided on the Ilve and we’ve ended up designing a lot of the kitchen around it. I LOVE it. The small oven would be annoying but the double wall ovens make up for it! #kitchenremodel #ilve #ilveoven #ilvenostalgie #oldhouse #oldhousenewhome #kitchenappliances

The other day I had take off the knobs on our @ilve range to clean and put one on the wrong way without noticing (pictured). My husband has been trying to put it on right and asked me how to that night. It made me think- the fact that the knob and handle come apart AND the entire piece can be taken off the range may not be common knowledge. This is a wonderful cleaning hack, for sure! But it is also a design hack. If you have an Ilve range and want your knob arms to face a different way, just unscrew from the knob, remove knob from the main piece, and rotate. The range is made to be able to turn the knobs to one of four off locations. We like ours pointing up for off.
