Research shows that people regret missed opportunities more than the mistakes they actually made. Psychologist Thomas Gilovich from Cornell University has studied regret for decades and concluded that, over time, inaction tends to create stronger and more lasting regret than action In 2020, a large study published in the Journal of Personality and Social Psychology found that people across different age groups most often regretted missed chances in education, career decisions, and relationships. Participants were more likely to say “I did not try” than “I tried and failed” There is also an age pattern. Younger adults tend to regret actions. As people get older, regret shifts toward things they did not do. The emotional impact of mistakes often decreases over time, while unrealized decisions remain part of a person’s life story Economic research supports this pattern as well. Delaying investment, avoiding skill development, or postponing career changes can measurably affect long term income. These outcomes are calculated in longitudinal financial models and show clear differences over time One consistent conclusion appears across disciplines. Not making a decision is still a decision. And statistically, inaction is more likely to become a lasting source of regret Subscribe @Oksana_mindset. There’s a lot of interesting content here for you

The Fed’s Inaction is a Green Light for Gold The Fed is way behind. 📈 Inflation is running out of control. Their failure to hike isn't bearish for gold—it’s BULLISH. Why? Real rates. When inflation surges and the Fed sits on its hands, real rates fall. That’s gold’s signal. 🟡 Most traders aren’t thinking long-term… are you? #Gold #Inflation #Fed #Investing #FinanceTips #SmartMoney #RealRates #Dollar #MarketUpdate

You should be disturbed by your own inaction. Not inspired. Not motivated. Disturbed. Because deep down you know you’re capable of more than this. More discipline. More courage. More honesty about the life you actually want. Untapped potential isn’t cute. It’s frustrating. It’s heavy. It feels like living below your own standards. At some point you have to decide that being comfortable is more painful than becoming who you’re meant to be. There is another level in you. Go meet it.

Karma is the most misunderstood word in spirituality. People use it to excuse inaction. “It’s my karma.” “It wasn’t meant to be.” “Whatever happens, happens.” But that’s not what the Gita teaches. Not even close. The Gita says yes, you inherit a field. Your body. Your family. Your circumstances. Your prarabdha karma the portion of past actions already in motion. But inside that field? You have complete freedom. That’s called purushartha human effort. Your choices. Your will. Your response. Krishna didn’t spend 18 chapters telling Arjuna to accept his fate and sit down. He spent 18 chapters waking him up. Reminding him that his response to the field is the whole game. Destiny gives you the situation. You decide who you become inside it. Two people lose everything. One never recovers. One builds something new. Same karma. Different purushartha. So stop hiding behind “it was meant to be.” That’s not faith. That’s fear wearing a spiritual mask. Your move still matters. It always did. Save this for the next time you catch yourself blaming fate 🙏

Jeff Bezos, the founder of Amazon, says stress does not stem from external pressure but from inaction on matters within our control, describing it as a subconscious signal tied to unresolved issues. Bezos argues that taking action even small steps like making a call, sending an email, or making a decision can reduce anxiety, emphasizing that stress diminishes when hesitation ends and problems are addressed directly. Follow @findgoatsongs for more... "Thumbs" is a track by Sabrina Carpenter from her 2016 album EVOLution. It's an upbeat pop song encouraging listeners not to passively follow routines or societal norms, using the phrase "twiddlin' them thumbs" as a metaphor for inaction. The song dropped as a promotional single on October 7, 2016, and became an official single on January 3, 2017. An official music video premiered on February 9, 2017, alongside lyric and acoustic versions. Carpenter performed it live on tours like the Evolution Tour and shows such as the Today Show. Key lines capture cycles of life and conformity: "Somewhere in the world / There is a father and a mother / And the father is a son, who has a mother," looping into the chorus "And so, they keep on twiddlin' them thumbs / Skiddly-dee-dat-dum-dum." The bridge urges: "Don't believe everything that you hear / ... Don't be one of them people just twiddlin' them thumbs." Song - Thumbs Artist - Sabrina Carpenter

Winning turns you from entertainment into a mirror. People love watching you climb and stumble because it keeps their inaction comfortable. The moment you start really winning, the vibe flips. When I bought my first beachfront mansion in Puerto Rico, I saw it clear: they call you lucky, say you changed, anything to avoid what the mirror shows. So don’t build for applause. Build because you refuse to die as potential. Let them misunderstand you until it’s obvious.

What You’re Not Changing, You’re Choosing🌟 Life often presents us with choices some big, some small. Yet, we sometimes find ourselves stuck in patterns or situations that don’t serve us. This quote is a powerful reminder that inaction can be just as impactful as action. Here’s what I mean: Comfort Zones Are Tricky: It’s easy to stay in familiar territory, even if it’s not fulfilling. We convince ourselves that change is daunting, but by not making a choice to change, we’re essentially choosing to remain in our comfort zone. Is that really what we want? Embracing Responsibility: Acknowledging that our current state is a choice can be liberating. It puts the power back in our hands. Every moment is a chance to decide. Do we want to stay where we are, or are we ready to take the leap into something new? Identifying Patterns: Reflect on your life. Are there recurring themes or situations that keep coming up? Recognising these patterns is the first step to understanding what needs to change. The Fear of Change: It’s normal to fear what’s unknown. But remember, growth doesn’t happen in comfort. The beauty lies in the journey of transformation, even if it feels uncomfortable at first. Take Small Steps: Change doesn’t have to be drastic. Start with small, manageable shifts—like altering your daily routine or trying a new hobby. Each small step can lead to significant growth over time. So, ask yourself: What am I choosing to accept in my life right now? What small change can I make today that leads me closer to the life I truly desire?

The cost of inaction is always greater than the cost of mistakes…. But most coaches are wired to fear mistakes more than stagnation. Because mistakes are visible. They sting. They expose you. Inaction feels safer. No rejection. No embarrassment. No public failure. But here’s the hidden cost…. While you’re protecting your ego… Time is moving. Opportunities are compounding, for someone else. Skills are sharpening, for someone else. Markets are shifting, without you. A bad decision teaches you. A failed launch teaches you. A messy sales call teaches you. Standing still teaches you nothing. Mistakes cost money. Inaction costs momentum, skill, wisdom. And momentum, skill & wisdom is everything in business. The coaches who win aren’t the ones who avoid errors. They’re the ones who iterate faster than everyone else. They launch before perfect. They sell before certain. They adjust in public. Because every mistake gives feedback. And feedback is fuel. But inaction? Inaction builds regret & self doubt. And regret compounds heavier than any failed attempt ever will. If you’re choosing between looking foolish or staying comfortable… Choose foolish. At least foolish moves forward. Comfort slowly kills ambition. The market doesn’t reward caution. It rewards movement. Make the mistake. Fix it fast. Move again. Because the only thing worse than making mistakes in business… Is watching someone else win while you waited, knowing you wasted your potential.
