🌿 ⸻ Rapé is a sacred ancestral medicine made from ground plants and medicinal ashes, used for centuries to cleanse the body, mind, and spirit. Modern science has confirmed many of its benefits — it stimulates the parasympathetic nervous system, reduces anxiety, enhances focus, and helps balance both hemispheres of the brain. That’s why, in the past, rapé and other natural medicines could even be found in pharmacies across Brazil. Over time, these ancestral practices were banned — not because they lacked effectiveness, but due to modernization and the gradual loss of connection with traditional knowledge. Still, Indigenous wisdom and the medicine of the forest remain alive, continuing to inspire paths of healing and reconnection. Today, we honor this sacred wisdom once again. Receiving the rapé in this ceremony is my friend Jana — fairy, guardian of Indigenous peoples, and the heart of our project Raízes. 🌿 #rapé #medicinaancestral #ancestralmedicine #povosoriginários #indigenouswisdom #florestamedicine #forestmedicine #cura #healing #raizes #roots #espiritualidade #spirituality #wild #documentary #ritual #brasil #brazil

Honoring the Sacred Power of Women – Happy International Women’s Day! 🌍✨ “Farafina Mousso”—a phrase in Bambara meaning “African Woman”—carries deeper roots than just identity. It is a tribute to the divine force of womanhood, the life-givers, nurturers, and protectors of culture. In many Indigenous traditions, the earth is mother, the womb is creation, and woman is the bridge between the seen and unseen. 🎶 @lubiana_k’s song reminds us that to honor women is to honor the very essence of life itself. In it, she sings: “If the earth is a woman, if the sea is a woman, if the moon is a woman, I know God is a woman.” 🔥 But do we honor our women the way we honor the earth? In a world where Black, Indigenous, and Brown women bear the weight of oppression while giving so much, how do we ensure they are protected, uplifted, and valued? 🌿 Today, let’s not just celebrate women—we must reclaim the sacred balance. We must demand that the mothers of civilization be treated with the respect and dignity they deserve. 💬 Tag a woman who embodies strength, wisdom, and love. Drop a 🌍 in the comments if you stand for the protection and honoring of our women! 🌿 Follow @Livity.Blog for more hidden histories, Indigenous wisdom, and ancestral empowerment. ✨ Rooted in Ancestral Truth. Recent anthropological research on Paleolithic cave art and ancient ritual sites like Göbekli Tepe suggests that the earliest form of religion wasn’t worship of gods in the sky… but spirit in nature. Scientists call it animism — a worldview where trees, rivers, animals and even stones are seen as conscious beings that you must communicate with. This was humanity’s first spiritual system. No temples. No written laws. Just humans in direct relationship with the living world. Modern culture calls this primitive. Indigenous wisdom calls it truth. If this is the first religion… did we evolve past it — or did we forget something very important?

There is a moment when the mind softens and the body remembers. When you move to Yawanawá music, something ancient stirs—not as an idea, but as a lived experience. The music invites you to listen. To feel. To let the earth rise through your feet and meet your heart, liberating what lives within you. As you dance, layers begin to fall away—stories you’ve been carrying, tensions you didn’t know how to name. What remains is presence. Breath. A quiet remembering of what is sacred within you. You can witness this transformation unfolding in the video: energy rooting downward while opening outward at the same time. This is not just dance—it is prayer in motion. A living bridge between earth and spirit, between cultures and distant places on the planet, forming a shared field of prayer through movement and connection in this moment on Earth. This is the heart of Sacred Bridge Online. A space to reconnect with Indigenous wisdom, embodied practice, and the deep intelligence that lives within your own body. A place to remember that what you are seeking has always been inside you—waiting for rhythm, relationship, and reverence to bring it alive. ✨ Step onto the bridge. Let the music move you home. ✨ For more information on how to experience Sacred Bridge Online, please visit the link in our bio. #sacredbridge #yawanawa #indigenouswisdom #DanceAsPrayer #onlineprogram

Braiding Sweetgrass is Medicine for me. It is one of our four Sacred Medicines🌾 The Elders tell us that it takes longer for us to heal today and the reason is because the old trails our ancestors used to use to find us have been destroyed by colonialism, assimilation, manifest destiny, and ethnic cleansing, towns and cities where the old trails used to be...so now our ancestors are having a hard time finding us to help us heal. So we must burn Sweetgrass~ a kindness medicine...with a sweet gentle aroma when we light it. 21 strands to make a braid-representing 7 generations of Ancestors, 7 Grandfather teachings, 7 generations in front of us. This year I learned to make Sweetgrass baskets-such a beautiful knowledge share from @nikkishawana 🌾 ————————————- @braiding_sweetgrass says in her book of the same name- “Our stories say that of all the plants, wiingaashk, or sweetgrass, was the very first to grow on the earth, its fragrance a sweet memory of Skywoman’s hand. Accordingly, it is honored as one of the four sacred plants of my people. Breathe in its scent and you start to remember things you didn’t know you’d forgotten. Our elders say that ceremonies are the way we “remember to remember.”” Robin Wall Kimmerer, Braiding Sweetgrass: Indigenous Wisdom, Scientific Knowledge, and the Teachings of Plants ————————————- #indigenous #indigenouswomen #braidingsweetgrass #foursacredmedicines #sacredmedicine #sweetgrass #sweetgrassbaskets #decolonize #decolonizeyourmind #decolonizeyourmedicine #wearestillhere #ancestor #elderwisdom #reclaimyourpower #traditionalteachings #indigenousmedicine #indigenoushealing #indigenoustraditions #traditionalknowledge #plantmedicine #plantmedicines #plantwisdom #plantsaremagic #plantallies

✨ KOTAHITANGA ✨ In Māori, Kotahitanga means unity, solidarity, and togetherness 🌿 “We are here to extend the hands of unity and Kotahitanga.” Whaia speaks to the duty we all share — to honor Indigenous wisdom, protect the Earth, and build a future rooted in connection and care. 🌿✨ Whaia reminds us that spirituality is not a performance. That our symbols and traditions are tied to the stars and our relationship with nature, carrying the knowledge of generations past. Seven generations have passed since colonization, and now we rise for the seven generations yet to come. #Kotahitanga #Unity #IndigenousWisdom #ClimateAction #Solidarity #SevenGenerations #WisdomKeepers #cop29 #climatejustice #indigenousrights #voicesofnature #landback
