Many job posts online were never meant to be filled.
These are called ghost jobs.
They are roles companies publish even when no hiring is planned.
The scary part is that any listing you see could be misleading.
Here is how to spot them:
🚩The job has been posted for months with no updates.
🚩The same role keeps showing up again and again.
🚩You apply and hear nothing back, no movement, mo clarity.
I tested this myself.
I applied to roles at companies I knew were not actively hiring.
Others applied too.
Nothing happened.
Yet the postings stayed live across job boards.
Job platforms may show reposts or recruiter activity, but that does not always mean someone is actually hiring.
The key takeaway is to do your homework before applying.
Pay attention to patterns.
Trust your instincts.
If something feels off, it probably is.
