Sitting in Paris and branding herself a “human rights activist,” she casually labels films like The Kashmir Files, The Kerala Story, and Dhurandhar as “propaganda,” brushing aside the lived experiences and trauma that these stories are rooted in. When someone from a Kashmiri Pandit background tried to engage, instead of showing sensitivity, her tone turned mocking and dismissive hardly the empathy you’d expect from someone claiming to stand for human rights.
It doesn’t stop there. Reet went on to lecture global figures like Priyanka Chopra on Palestine, while simultaneously setting public expectations for her own sister, Aneet Padda almost using her as a prop to signal moral superiority. This isn’t activism, it’s selective outrage packaged as virtue. Calling the 2002 Gujarat riots a “genocide” in a sweeping, politically loaded manner further shows how casually she throws around heavy terms to fit a narrative, without acknowledging the legal and historical complexities involved.
This entire episode exposes a pattern loud opinions, selective empathy, and zero accountability.
