Every year, towns in Ireland compete for the “Tidy Town” crown.
Volunteers rush out to clean up the town, improve the landscaping and paint the town in bright colours.
Towns on the southwest coast are known as fierce competitors with both Kinsale and Kenmare with past wins.
Don’t miss these friendly towns. I visited them on a fantastic tour of the Irish countryside with @gocollette .
Spilling the tea: Kinsale was my favourite for the colours, fish and chips at @dinos_cork artisanal chocolate at @kokokinsale and friendly folks who randomly stopped to chat.

Lots of fab spots to eat in Kenmare but I love @foleysofkenmare for a meal that will keep me full for ages. Got a coffee from @maisongourmetkenmare and of course I had to get a sweet treat at @kenmareicecream 🍦
So many things to do in Kenmare! I got to tick something off my bucket list by going walking alpacas at @thenakedsheep.ie. You get to walk the alpacas in a peaceful wood and stop to give the alpacas a snack before heading back to the farm where you learn about how alpaca wool is processed and turned into gifts for sale in their gift shop.
I’d also advise staying here as the self catering lodges are so cute and right beside the alpacas outdoor area. Imagine having a coffee sitting outside and watching the alpacas first thing in the morning! ☕️🦙

Our first time ever in Kenmare, what a beautiful spot!! We had a typical Irish spring weather day, but it only added to the charm of the place. The town was really vibrant with lots of charming places, but the bay was my favorite place.
