Visiting LEGOLAND California Resort is about so much more than just rides. 🎢 While the attractions are fun, there are so many little details, experiences, and moments around the park that make it one of my favorite places to visit with kids.
From interactive spaces where kids can get creative, to immersive areas that feel like you’ve stepped inside a giant LEGO world, this park is packed with things families can enjoy together without ever stepping in a ride line. There are hands-on activities, hidden details everywhere you look, entertainment that keeps kids engaged, and so many fun spots designed just for exploring.
One of the things I love most is how the entire park encourages kids to slow down, play, build, and use their imagination. It’s not just about thrill rides — it’s about discovering something new around every corner. Whether it’s colorful displays, unique experiences you won’t find at other theme parks, or spaces designed specifically for younger builders, it’s easy to fill an entire day doing things that have nothing to do with roller coasters.
And honestly, that’s one of the biggest reasons LEGOLAND stands out. It’s a theme park built for families where the fun isn’t limited to ride wait times. Sometimes the best memories come from the unexpected things you stumble across while exploring the park.

Trading LEGO Minifigures at LEGOLAND California Resort is one of our FAVORITE things to do and the best part… it’s totally FREE for kids!🧱
Did you know there are FOUR different ways to trade?
1️⃣ If you spot a Model Citizen with a minifigure on their name badge, you can ask to trade! Just hand them your LEGO brand minifigure and swap for the one on their badge.
2️⃣ Keep an eye out for the big trading wall (it often pops up in front of NINJAGO 🥷). Kiddos can trade for different minifigures displayed there — it’s always fun to see what characters are available!
3️⃣ Head inside the stores! Many shops have small minifigure trading displays where you can make a swap.
4️⃣ You might also see Model Citizens walking around with special minifigure cases — yes, you can trade with them too!
🚨 Important: All minifigures must be official LEGO brand pieces — no other brands allowed.
