Success is built on failure.. 💪🏼 Failed exams. Rejected jobs. Missed chances. But every “No” brings you closer to your “Yes”. It’s not about never failing. It’s about failing, getting back up, and fighting harder. Grateful to my family — my father, mother, sister, brother, my amazing wife, and my little daughter for always believing in me. Patience. Faith. Resilience. That’s how dreams come true. #hospital #medicine #doctor #medlife #NHS #surgeon #MRCS #success

Every MBBS doctor eventually faces this question: Which exam should I choose? 🇺🇸 USMLE 🇬🇧 PLAB 🇦🇺 AMC 🌍 MRCP / MRCS Each pathway can completely change your career, lifestyle, salary, and training opportunities. Some doctors say USMLE is the gold standard. Others believe PLAB is the easiest pathway. Many think Australia is the future for doctors. Follow @careersbeyondborder for guidance regarding every pathway But the truth is… There is no “one best exam.” The best pathway depends on your goals, patience, finances, and long term plans. 👇 So tell us honestly: Which exam do you think is the BEST for doctors after MBBS? Study Resources for MRCS Part A Exam : I remember being completely lost after booking the MRCS Part A exam, not knowing where to start. I didn't open a single book for a couple of months, and it was only when I had just 2.5 months left that reality started kicking in and I went into panic mode. Luckily I found some very kind people on this platform who had recently taken the exam, and they willingly shared their resources and tips with me. So this is me sharing my experience here in the hopes that it might benefit someone else! 1. eMRCS subscription : I mainly relied on my EMRCS subscription - it was totally worth every penny! The four month subscription, costing £40, covered all the topics that are necessary to clear the exam. Their practice questions, and mock exams helped me stay focused. 2. Dr Arefin Recalls : I spent the last two weeks before the exam focusing solely on Dr Arefin's recalls PDF, which was a lifesaver honestly. Approximately 30% of the questions in the exam came from these recalls. 3. Other sources that you can access include: - Omaima Notes - Reda Notes - Fawzia Sheet - Salah bullet points - PastTest My biggest tips are to stay consistent, practice as much as you can, and don't underestimate the power of recall. It really helped me retain key information. To anyone struggling, create a study schedule and stick to it. Join a study group for motivation or find a partner that might help you build a routine, and practice under timed conditions. Share this with someone who might be appearing in the MRCS Part A in the near future. And in case anyone needs help or guidance, please don't hesitate to DM me! I'd love to assist. ✨ . . . . . . . . . . . . . #mrcs #study #resources #exam #royalsurgeon #uk #plab #studygram #royalcollegeofsurgeons #doctor #surgeon #match #2024 #nhs #surgery #emrcs #recall #instadaily #aesthetic

On special request - Although I have explained the pathway for MBBS graduates in various live sessions before, many people wanted a simplified ‘whiteboard’ explanation for a few specialties. A few other points I want to highlight for surgery: 1. If you have less than 2 years surgical experience post MBBS, it’s better to choose this pathway (CST). 2. You can gain GMC registration either via PLABs or MRCS (much more difficult than PLAB). 3. To apply for CST, you will need a signed CREST form (can be signed by any consultant including outside UK). 4. You can apply without any NHS experience also, but please bear in mind, you could be expected to start from night shifts because as a trainee, most hospitals will expect you to know the NHS system. NHS system works very differently and you will struggle without previous experience. So apply at your own risk. 5. Following completion of CST, you can apply for specialty training in one of the surgical specialties - Orthopaedics, ENT, Neurosurgery, Cardiothoracics, Vascular, etc (all are 6 years long). 6. ‘Skipping CST’ - That’s a personal decision. If you feel you have enough surgical experience and would rather apply for ST3 training after MRCS, go for it. Check my previous reel about applying for ST3 level jobs. 7. This is a long journey: 2 years PLAB and non training job, 2 years CST and 6 years specialty training IF you pass all exams and get a training post in first attempt; so a minimum of 10 years. Ofcourse you will receive a salary throughout those 10 years as it’s still a job. 8. On completion of full training (10 years), you will be equivalent to MCH in India. You can go back but I salute you if you can plan the next 10-12 years of your life even before moving to UK. All surgical specialties are extremely competitive. I am not the best person to guide you for interviews, but I will share some webinars/sessions for aspirants in the future. #plab #plab1 #plab2 #mrcs #royalcollegeofsurgeons
