The brain activity recorded while subjects viewed a set of film clips was used to create a computer program that learned to associate visual patterns in the movie with the corresponding brain activity. The brain activity evoked by a second set of clips was used to test the movie reconstruction algorithm. This was done by feeding 18 million seconds of random YouTube videos into the computer program so that it could predict the brain activity that each film clip would most likely evoke in each subject. 🤣These are too funny not to share. My old co-worker sent me 2 hours worth of my reporter stories. This is a random mash-up. (Story time): Another lifetime ago I was a “TV News Morning Anchor & Dayside Reporter.” I had went to Indiana University my freshman year to study broadcast journalism. This was the year of the 2000 election. I got hooked on politics and transferred to Georgetown in DC to study government. I got to intern at ABC News, MSNBC, work at think tanks before getting my start in Charlottesville, VA as the morning anchor. My next stop was here in Knoxville, TN where I stayed:). After meeting Jake, I started to look around at the evening anchors whom I admired but realized I didn’t want their intense balancing act of family & work—never knowing when they would be getting home. It was hard enough as a structured runner! Let alone a mom! So I switched to media relations then public relations, before launching The Mother Runners. And here we are…there’s more to say, but thanks for reading this far!
