We love a woodwork project with our early years groups! Last week the wild ones made brilliant bugs with loose parts, and we saw so much imagination and creativity, as well as practicing of tool skills. Some children made bugs they knew and some invented completely new species. We were very inspired by Alex Scheffler’s Flip Flap Minibeast book. Some of the children were keen to find real bugs living in the woodland and we were all fascinated by the arthropod specimens in acrylic blocks shared by one of our lovely families 🦋 Such a beautiful week playing and learning in the spring sunshine!
