Basketball players, baseball players, boxers, and quarterbacks are always putting their arms over their heads. It doesn’t matter if they are smashing a two handed dunk on someone’s head, launching a 30 yard rope to third base, throwing and overhand right, or throwing a 50 yard bomb for a TD. Mobility matters! One of the easiest and most underrated exercises you can do is a hanging variation. Start with the two hand holds and work your way up to one minute. Then you can try one arm hangs for 10-15 sec. Here are 4 ways you can put it in your routine. 1️⃣ Add them between your sets of back squat to decompress the spine. 2️⃣ Add them as part of the warm up. 3️⃣ Add them as part of the cool down. 4️⃣ Do it every 30 minutes after you have been hunched over at a desk. Do the little things to give you that slight edge on the field and in life. Train with purpose. #POWERHANDZ #TrainWithPurpose

How did you do? Listen I want to share with you that flexibility, balance and mobility matters— and even more so as we age! Don’t make the mistake – – the very common mistake of thinking that all of this naturally declines as we age. And that it’s OK not to think about it anymore. I am sharing with you with the hopes that you do these kind of “assessments” on where you stand and then work on the things to help you with your personal mobility, flexibility, balance.. of course also strength. How do we know it’s important? Certain tests like to sit to rise test, and the balancing on one leg test have all been shown to independently predict mortality in research studies. Researchers found that older people who couldn’t stand on one foot for 10 sec were nearly twice as likely to die in the next 10 years. The bottom line for you is - you have to tune out the noise and work on what makes you happier and healthier.
