DRA day in the life with me…at a veterinary conference! Kicked off the year with @the_navc in Orlando!
Why do I go to vet conferences?
🔹Work—I am an industry vet so this allows me the opportunity to answer questions from my colleagues and detail innovations and what’s in the pipeline!
🔹Learn—A requirement for veterinarians to keep their licenses active is to stay updated on all things medical, research, products and industry trends. We get CE(continuing education) hours that we often have to submit to our states to prove we are current(every state varies on this process)
🔹Network—I have so much fun connecting with other veterinarians, vet techs, hospital managers, vet students, researchers, vendors/exhibitors, change makers, the list goes on. I need a new way to share my contact beyond the old business card though…send ideas my way 😆
Lastly, I was intentional to just enjoy the different events the conference offered. The highlight was the VMX Talent Show sponsored by ProPlan Veterinary Diets!!I was honored to be a judge and was so proud of those brave, beautiful souls that shared their talents with the rest of us. The hardest part was making a decision because every performer wowed me 🤩
Loved seeing old and meeting new friends. If we didn’t get connect, let’s catch up at the next one ♥️🐾🩺

DRGearing up for the first major veterinary conference of the year! @the_navc always puts on a show and VMX 2025 is slated to be a good one.
So what does an industry veterinarian do at a conference? Here’s what’s on the docket:
🖊️ Networking: meetings upon meetings with so many of my friends and colleagues. Some of my meetings are planned and others are impromptu
🖊️ Exhibit hall: this is an incredible time to learn about new products, medications, nutrition, hospital tools and so much more in one space. I will be holding it down at the @purina booth so come say hi!
🖊️Lectures: most veterinarians use this time to get their CE or continuing education hours. I will pop in a few as time permits. We are always learning and growing in this profession.
🖊️Evening events: the party doesn’t stop… ever. There are going to be so many ways to connect with other veterinary professionals after conference hours! I’m most looking forward to the VMX Talent Show which showcases some incredibly brave and talented folks. Excited to be back at the judges table!
