THNorth Carolina State University just dropped decisions for Early Action.
This year they received 36,790 applications, which was similar to last year.
🎉 In late December, NC State dropped 5,100 admitted decisions, and the remaining 8k+ today.
While they did not share in-state vs OOS data, the state of North Carolina maintains an 82/18 rule - only enrolling 18% out-of-state students.
🔥NC State admits by major - thus looking simply at the admit rate may be deceiving depending on how popular your major was and the space available.
Also, in some of the more competitive majors, like Engineering, students tended to submit test scores at higher rates.
🎓GPA Recalculation
NC State converts high school transcripts to a weighted 4.0 scale, adding points for rigor (1 for AP/IB/College, 0.5 for Honors)
NC State is test-optional for applicants above a 2.8 GPA
