I celebrated 35yrs of sobriety and drug free yesterday* #sobriety #soberlife #odaat When I got sober at 21yrs old, I had lost all hope or faith in life, love or myself. All Dreams were shattered. My spirit was flickering out. I was lost. I needed help. It appeared. Or I was ready to see it.
From that first day of sobriety to now, it has been a quite journey. Many ups and downs and everything in between. I have loved, been loved, laughed, cried, failed, succeeded, all the while sharing my strength and experience with others in need of help and support. For those uncertain or afraid, I am positive proof it works. And life is still FUN.💃🏼🕺🏽✨
I am #grateful every day to be alive, sober and striving to live my greatest life as the best version of myself.
To AA, my partner, family, friends, supporters, co-workers, teachers and my personal Higher Power, thank you for this day. I’ll keep showing up to see another. ❤️
*yesterday was an emotionally tough day. I held back from posting. I was questioning myself, my abilities. I am grateful to my AA friends and those friends whom I work with for being there for me. ✨
