UNO FLIP AND THREAD 📿 This engaging occupational therapy activity combines a flipped UNO card with color and number matching to promote fine motor and cognitive skills. The client flips an UNO card, identifies the color and number, then threads the corresponding color bead onto a matching color pipe cleaner, repeating the action until the number on the card is met. This task targets fine motor control, pincer grasp, bilateral coordination, hand–eye coordination, and in-hand manipulation, while also addressing visual discrimination, color/number recognition, sequencing, and sustained attention. I’m an OT and I’m not ashamed to admit… ***If this resonates - Type BOSS below to get my free 10-minute video on how I built a 6-figure online business.*** 1. I haven’t treated clinically in over 3 years. I have two very expensive degrees and I don’t use them the way I thought I would. I’m totally OK with that. I don’t miss treating patients and I love that I get to impact people indirectly at a much greater scale. 2. I don’t have any specialty certifications. I’ve gotten education in many different ways that don’t end in an assessment or more letters after my name. I’m OK with that too. I have a lot of knowledge to share and I don’t believe more certifications are the only way to learn. Oh and they’re definitely not what clients care about the most. 3. I’m the sole-breadwinner in my family of 5. When my husband was going away to other states for work for 6 months at a time, I knew that wasn’t the life we signed up for. My online business gave me the opportunity to “retire” him and now we’re proud stay at home parents to our 3 beautiful girls. 4. My CEUs for each renewal period are all business related. I haven’t taken an AOTA or state approved CE course in years. Thankfully, FL and NBCOT allow you to self-submit courses, programs, workshops, etc that are outside those parameters.
