CHBrandi Carlile was the first celebrity I ever interviewed, on a red carpet back in 2021. She has received approximately one bazillion flowers since then, each one deserved, none affecting the gentle humility that sets her apart as an LGBTQ+ icon. It’s official now, as @outmagazine’s Icon of the Year. Capital letters and everything. Oh and by the way, she’s writing another book.
