I get it… food throwing is exhausting. I’m a pediatric SLP and I often see food throwing when toddlers have trouble communicating their wants or needs. This could be: • They’re hungry but can’t say it • They want a different food • They’re full • They need help at mealtime Ignoring it can make it worse because toddlers repeat it to get your attention or show their needs. Try these 3 steps instead: 1️⃣ Pause and reset Remove the food briefly, offer water, and try again in a few minutes 2️⃣ Have them help clean up right away Teach responsibility and show that throwing has a consequence not just at the end of the meal 3️⃣ Give unwanted food a place off the plate Offer a spot for food they don’t want so it doesn’t get thrown on the floor Share this with anyone who helps feed your toddler! #ToddlerMealtime #ParentingTips #FoodThrowing

Sugar impacts more than cavities. In children, frequent sugar exposure can influence gut health, inflammation, immune function, energy regulation, and sleep quality. Oral health plays a key role in how children chew, swallow, and breathe, all of which support proper facial growth, airway development, and overall well-being. This isn’t about fear or perfection. It’s about giving parents the knowledge they need to make informed choices today that support healthier growth tomorrow. ✨ Follow @nurture.myo.wellness for oral health and airway education made for parents who want to understand the “why,” not just the rules. #healthy #healthylifestyle #holistichealth #health #parentingtips

If my kids and me get separated in public, I don’t teach them to yell “Mom”. I teach this instead ⬇️ 1️⃣ Yell my full name loudly Not “Mom” or “Mumma” - but __________ (my name) ✔️ Strangers won’t respond ✔️ My voice stands out in a crowd 2️⃣ Look for a safe adult immediately Police officer, security guard, shopkeeper, or a mom with kids. 3️⃣ Stay where you are Running around makes it harder for parents to find you. 4️⃣ Use a strong, confident voice Not crying quietly - loud, clear, repeated calling. 5️⃣ Say clear and short sentence My name is '__________' My mom's name is '___________' I am lost. 6️⃣ We practice this at home Because in panic, kids remember what they’ve practiced. I tell them - "If we ever get separated in public, I will come find you. Always." ✨ This simple shift can make a huge difference in real life situations. 📌 Save this post 💬 Comment “SAFE” if you’re teaching this too 🤍 Share with a parent who needs this . . #OldSchoolParenting #ChildSafety #ParentingTips #ConsciousParenting #RaisingAwareKids

Looking at a phone next to a child at night is not just a "small habit." The blue light emitted from phone screens suppresses melatonin secretion. Melatonin is not just a sleep hormone; it is also a prerequisite for the healthy release of growth hormones. If a child cannot enter deep sleep, the growth hormone—which needs to be secreted intensely during the first 2–3 hours of sleep—cannot be released sufficiently. Over time, this suppresses the child's growth potential. This effect doesn't appear overnight; it becomes clinically significant when repeated every night over months and years. The thought, "I'm looking at my phone while the child sleeps," is incorrect. A screen operating in the dark is a stimulus perceived even through closed eyelids. To the brain, it is still "daytime." Groups at Highest Risk: Children aged 0–6 Adolescents This is not a criticism of parenting; it is data from sleep physiology and pediatric endocrinology. Height growth depends on sleep patterns as much as genetics. How to Protect Them: Do not use a phone in the dark next to the child. Give up the habit of turning off the lights and then "just checking" your phone. Instead of asking "Are they staying quiet?", ask "Are they sleeping deeply?" Growth doesn't happen in the bones alone; it happens in the darkness of the night and during deep sleep. Today’s sleep interrupted by a screen will cost them centimeters tomorrow. #kiddocaretips #parentingtips #babydevelopment #gentleparenting #babyhealth
