Install geotextile fabric at the bottom for separation and stability 3. Add ¾” angular crushed gravel, compacting in 2” lifts until you reach a 7” base 4. Install drive-grid / geo-grid for reinforcement and long-term strength 5. Screed a 3/8” crushed limestone chip bedding layer 6. Lay your pavers on the prepared surface 7. If your base is off: your pavers will sink they’ll shift and separate edges start failing and now you’re back fixing it instead of moving on to the next job We always focused on: proper excavation geogrid when needed compacted 57 stone in lifts screed 89 stone on top tight edge restraints and a clean screed before laying a single paver The patio you see is only as good as what’s underneath it.
