Sound on! 🐝🔈 Did you know that static electricity actually attracts pollen to bees? When a bee flies, the air friction rubs off electrons giving them a positive charge. Flowers are negatively charged, so when in close proximity, static electricity causes the pollen to attract and stick to the bee. Once foraged, the flower’s electrical field temporarily changes – this helps to redirect other bees to forage from different pollen sources. This pollination process can happen thanks to our beloved pollinators (bees, wasps and many others) but it can also happen by the wind. But to be triple sure that flowers are pollinated, you can easily hand pollinate them with a paintbrush. This is very helpful if you do not see many pollinators visiting your growing space!
