I swear by this year round but once the temperature drops and anyone feels the slightest bit sick… homemade juice it is. My favorite calls for celery, lemon, apple, and ginger. You can play around with the amount but I usually start with 3 bunches of celery, 3 green apples, 3 lemons and a small piece of ginger. Don’t forget to WASH everything!! I take most of the lemon rind off before juicing (can be bitter but can also be left on). Taste as you go and add as you need. If you want it on the sweeter side, add more apples etc. I like to drink on an empty stomach in the morning. Lately I’ve seen too many stories of women being ignored, overlooked, or told their symptoms are “normal” or “not urgent” until they aren’t. It’s tragic! Pregnancy isn’t the finish line. Postpartum health for women is its own medical chapter, and complications, physical, mental, emotional, can develop even in the healthiest pregnancies. Every pregnant and postpartum patient deserves to be heard, believed, and advocated for. As Alia shared, she “just had a baby, and everything fell apart” with old injuries resurfacing, new ones emerging and her struggle amplified when she was now in charge of caring for a newborn. This happens far more often than we admit. To every mom navigating pain, recovery, identity, and uncertainty: You’re not alone. Your concerns are real. Your health matters. Let’s talk about it.
