The project is second largest in South India, at a cost of ₹25,099 crores. The state-owned Telangana Power Generation Corporation Limited (TGGENCO) is building the 5 x 800 mega thermal power station, built on 2800 acres near Veerlapalem Village in Nalgonda District, the second mega project announced by the Telangana government after Bhadradri Thermal Power Plant. All five units of the Yadadri thermal power station (YTPS) are expected to be operational by February 2026, informed by the Telangana Power Generation Corporation Limited (TGGENCO). The Yadadri thermal power plant built at Veerlapalem village, Dameracherla in Nalgonda district, is set to operate at 4000 MW with five units each supplying 800 MW of electricity. Unit-2 was commissioned in January 2025 and Unit-1 commissioned in July 2025. The remaining three units will be commissioned by February 2026. The total coal requirement for all five units is estimated to be around 50,000 metric tonnes per day, which means the Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) would have to provide around 12-14 railway rakes for all units. . I Wanted to Show Steel — You Asked About Solar My last video was about offshore solar, but I was actually showing the space frame structures supporting the panels. Because my factory manufactures steel structures, space frames, trusses, and metal tanks, and we also handle engineering projects. But many of you were more interested in solar itself. So here’s something even more interesting: A solar power system that works 24 hours a day — Molten Salt Tower Power. How it works: 1. Concentrating sunlight Thousands of heliostats (mirrors) track the sun in real time and reflect sunlight onto a central receiver on top of a tower, creating extremely high energy density. 2. Heat absorption Molten salt inside the receiver absorbs this energy and is heated up to around 565°C, turning solar radiation into thermal energy. 3. Thermal energy storage The hot molten salt flows into a hot storage tank, acting like a “thermal battery” that can store energy for 8–15 hours independent of sunlight. 4. Steam generation & power production When electricity is needed, the hot salt transfers heat through a heat exchanger to produce high-pressure steam, which drives a steam turbine generator. 5. Cooling & recycling After releasing heat, the cooled molten salt is stored in a cold tank and pumped back to the receiver for reheating — forming a continuous cycle. This system solves solar intermittency and allows stable, controllable 24-hour power generation, unlike traditional photovoltaic systems. #steelstructure #solarenergy #renewableenergy #spaceframe #powerplant
