Not to mention how much bleach and chimicals have been released to the water from the fishing industry when they clean the boats. While I’ve spent some time in Celestun one of the major mangrove systems in Yucatan Peninsula in Mexico. I’ve met some incredible locals who not only are aware of these issues but are working hard to preserve this part of the world. We need more resources to be put in conservation and restoration of mangrove ecosystems. We need governments to control the deforestation of mangrove forests. We also need a massive reduction in seafood consumption. 26th of July was World Mangrove day… #protectmangroves #mangroveecosystem
