Beispielsweise sind sie nicht verpflichtet ihre Dienstnummer herzugeben, wenn du eine gewaltvolle Situation zwischen einem Polizisten und einer Person beobachtest. Auch bei Demonstrationen können Beamt*innen, wenn sie nach der Dienstnummer gefragt werden, auf den Einsatzleiter verweisen. In den meisten europäischen Ländern ist es üblich, dass Polizist*innen eine individuelle Kennzeichnung, wie eine individuell zuordenbare Nummer auf ihrer Uniform tragen. Dies ist wichtig, damit die Handlungen von Polizeibeamt*innen in Strafverfahren auch individuell zuordenbar sind, ansonsten läuft ein strafrechtliches Verfahren ins Leere.
