Having kids who love reading is rarely luck. Its part of who we are. We have books everywhere, its part of our daily routine. We listen to audio books in the morning while having breakfast. We have books in the car so they read (or look at pictures which is just as important) on any car journey. Its a special bonding time. We snuggle and read. Every bedtime without fail. We go to bookstores and they get excited about getting new books. Whwnever i notice they have a new interest i look for books and encourage that. Whether its fiction or nonfiction. So no its not ‘luck’, its very intentional, planned and consistent. #kids #books #childrensbooks #littlereaders #bookstagram #littlebookworm #kidsbooks #raisingreaders

A two decade long study showed that homes that have 500 or more books will advance kids ahead in education 3.2 years on average. ‌ This is the same advantage kids have when their parents are university-educated have vs those whose parents are illiterate. ‌ The same study also found that even having just 20 books at home significantly impacted kids’ future education! ‌ This means: giving your kids regular access to books can fill in the gaps that you have in your own education. 𝘉𝘦𝘤𝘢𝘶𝘴𝘦 𝘸𝘦 𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘮! ‌ The goal isn’t the big home library. ‌ The goal is raising readers. ‌ The pretty library is just a perk. 😜 ‌ A family culture where reading is prioritized has a huge impact on your child’s education and future. ‌ Statistics show that kids who read and are read to often get higher test scores, are more likely to go to college, are less likely to live in poverty or be incarcerated. ‌ You don’t need a huge home library to raise readers, but you DO need to give your kids regular access to books. ‌ You can: ‌ 🛒 buy used from thrift stores, rummage sales, and online ‌ 📚 borrow books from your local library or friends ‌ 🎧 listen to audiobooks (you can borrow these from the library) ‌ 📱 read the digital version (which you can also borrow from the library!) ‌ 💻 watch the book being read aloud on YouTube (SO many picture books are read aloud on YT!) ‌ ‌ Studies are clear: reading to your kids and giving them regular access to books has a huge impact on their education and their future. ‌ The Literary Lounge will help you find the right books for your family, build your home library, and teach language arts in your homeschool. ‌ Inside, you’ll get access to The Lit List - a curated book lists - organized by topic and age - pre-vetted for appropriateness ‌ You’ll also get: - monthly group coaching calls - video teachings - exclusive printables - PDF guides & ebooks like Building a Family Library; Raising Readers in a Screen-Filled World. - VIPs also get access to a HUGE PreK-12 language arts resource library ‌ ‌ 𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝗺𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗼𝗻𝗹𝘆 𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗸!! ‌ ✨Comment LOUNGE to get all the details!✨

This video is over a year old, but the message still stands 🤍 And it still makes me emotional. Since then, nothing has changed. It’s been over two years of reading every single day — with her and for her. Now she still “reads” on her own, and books are her biggest interest. Not many toys can compete with books in our house. She chooses them every single day, all by herself 📚 And you can get there too. Make books a priority from day one — even when it feels weird, even when your baby isn’t interacting or understanding much yet. It’s worth it in the long run 🤍 #raisingreaders #booksoverscreens #toddlerlife #intentionalparenting #screenfreechildhood

We wanted to cut down screen time, so we made a rule Finish a book during the week and Get a movie time on the weekend. 🎬📖 Screen Time is Earned. At first, it was a struggle and felt “forced.” she had no other option. Slowly the “forced” reading turned into a genuine love for books. It started as a rule now it’s became a habit and dives into them naturally. The Sacrifice: To support her, we stopped watching TV entirely. Even No TV during meal time, even it was hard for us at first! 🛑📺 Set a home rule and stick to it. It’s hard in the beginning, but the results are so worth it. ❤️📚 There is something so peaceful about watching her dive into another world. We might not be readers ourselves, but we could watch her read all day. ❤️ Raising a reader in a home of non-readers parents 📖 #reelsinstagram #littlereader #bookworm #raisingreaders #trendingreels daughter reader love reading

Follow @modernmindfulparent for more real + honest parenting truths🌱 What if the real flex in parenting isn’t giving more… but giving less? Here’s the truth bomb 💣: structure beats spoiling every single time. Reading 20 pages a day. No iPads during the week. Grades matter. Effort matters. Discipline matters. Not because kids shouldn’t have fun but because habits shape futures. When everything is earned, kids don’t grow up waiting to be entertained. They grow up focused. Curious. Self-driven. Screens don’t raise thinkers. Consistency does. Gifts don’t build character. Standards do. This isn’t about being harsh. It’s about being intentional. Kids actually feel safer when expectations are clear even when they complain 😅 Actionable takeaway 👇 Create one daily non-negotiable habit in your home (reading, homework check, chores) and remove one unnecessary comfort that distracts from it. Start small. Stay consistent. You’re not depriving them. You’re preparing them. 🔥 Share this with a parent who needs a mindset reset 💭 🗣️Patrick Bet David #IntentionalParenting #RaisingReaders #DisciplineOverDistractions #ParentingWithPurpose #FutureFocused

Why wait until school to start the reading journey? 🧠📖 The best time to introduce words is right now, while the brain is developing the fastest! Most people are shocked to see babies reading, but it’s actually very natural. When you replace "passive" screen time with "active" brain play, magic happens. ✨ This video shows real kids moving from simple cards to reading full storybooks with total ease. Watching that progress is the best feeling for any parent! ❤️ Why this works: ✅ No stress – It feels like play, not study. ✅ No screens – Active learning instead of passive watching. ✅ Just 5 minutes a day – Fits perfectly into your busy schedule. ✅ Right stimulation – Giving the brain what it needs at the right time. It’s about building a strong foundation and a lifelong love for books. 🚀 Ready to give your child this head start? 👇 Comment "BOOKS" and we’ll send you the step-by-step plan for your child! #EarlyLearning #RaisingReaders #ParentingIndia #BrainDevelopment #ScreenFreeKids [Baby Brain Development,Screen-Free Learning,Reading Journey,Early Childhood Education,Toddler Progress]

How can you, as a busy parent, confidently raise kids who love to read? Back when I was teaching, I often found kids who struggled to find a book they loved. They would quickly label themselves are someone who didn't "like reading." It turns out, sometimes their issue could be solved with a little help from their parents! I would fantasize about the days when all my students would find a book that met their needs and gave them the uttermost confidence to read a variety of books. Today, after some determination and perseverance, I worked out all the kinks and have come up with my very own step by step guide to help you identify the 9 Mistakes Parents Make Raising Readers. Parents, this book is pure poetry—it will tug at your heartstrings, so keep those tissues handy! 💕 Wherever You Are My Love Will Find You by Nancy Tillman feels like it was written more for parents than kids—at least, that’s how I see it. While reading it to my 3-year-olds, I realized much of it went over their heads, but every line had me tearing up. “I wanted you more than you will ever know...” The opening words hit deep, especially for those of us who faced struggles on the journey to parenthood. This book perfectly captures that unshakable, unconditional love—the kind that follows your child wherever they go, no matter what. If your home is filled with little giggles and boundless love, please read this book. You’ll feel every word. 💖✨ Kids Books About Love, Storytime Magic, Raising Readers, Books For Toddlers, Valentine’s Books For Kids, IVF Journey, IVF Parents, Rainbow Baby, Miracle Babies, Teaching Kindness, Family Reads, Books We Love, Bookworms In Training, Parenting Twins
