SAI transferred at a time it was looked down upon by many. There was no one I knew I could relate to and there were hardly any posts about it on social media. In the past two and a half years, I’m so happy to see how far the conversation around this topic has grown. I get so emotional watching this video because I remember the deep feelings of impending doom, loneliness, and depression. After transferring and listening to my mind and body, I can say that is not my reality anymore at all.
If you’re reading this and want to transfer but are scared about what family, friends, strangers, or neighbors will think, this is what I want to tell you. College is 4 whole years of your life and it’s not worth being miserable just to please other people. Even though I transferred from a big 10 school to smaller university much closer to my hometown, I have not one regret because I listened to my intuition.
