Paul said it first:
“For I do not do the good I want to do, but the evil I do not want to do, this I keep on doing.”
Romans 7:19
Salvation doesn’t mean the battle disappears. It means the battle becomes visible. Before Christ, you were dead to sin.
After Christ, you’re at WAR with it and actually become aware to it.
Your spirit is saved, but your flesh still wants sin. Your heart loves God, but your body still remembers old habits. That tension isn’t hypocrisy. It’s evidence of new life, it’s conviction from the Holy Spirit.
If sin grieves you now, that’s not proof you’re failing. It’s proof the Holy Spirit is at work.
Paul wasn’t confessing defeat. He was explaining the fight. And the fight doesn’t mean you’re losing. It means you’re no longer enslaved.
And remember God’s grace isn’t permission to stay stuck. Grace will help empower us to keep getting back up.
“For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out.”
Romans 7:18
Struggling with sin doesn’t cancel salvation.
It CONFIRMS transformation. Stay in the fight. Jesus already won it🕺🏾
