Here are five tips for writing an SOP that can lower your chances of getting a student visa rejection for Canada 🇨🇦
✨ While writing your SOP, focus only on your Master's. Avoid talking about PhD (if you want to do it in the future) as this might indicate that you are planning on staying in Canada longer than intended.
✨ Don't mention the scope of your career in Canada, rather write about its scope in your home country i.e India. Mention some of the Indian companies that have good opportunities in your choice of course/profession. This will help the visa officer build more confidence in your profile.
✨ If you are planning to go to Canada because of your relatives that live there, avoid mentioning this in your SOP as this might raise questions about your intention of going there.
✨ If you are pursuing a course that is unrelated to your past degree, then clarify why you want to change to a different course. Add a line about the related course by linking it with previous academic and professional experience or personal life. For example, you can say that you want to a business administration course to join your family business.
✨ It is important to establish that you are financially stable and can survive on your own in Canada. Hence, mention that you would be financing yourself throughout your Master's/Bachelor's degree.
