March is Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month. Colorectal cancer screening truly is an opportunity to prevent cancer. It’s one of the only cancer screening tests that can prevent cancer by finding precancerous polyps and removing them before they become cancer. Screening can also find cancer early when it may be easier to treat. Colorectal cancer is a leading cause of cancer death for men and women. Each year, almost 53,000 people die of it in the United States. But it doesn’t have to be this way. Talk to your healthcare provider about what is right for you. Call us today at 712-737-2000. We have the skilled and compassionate team to serve you and your loved ones.

March is Colon and Rectal Cancer Awareness Month Colorectal cancer is now the leading cause of cancer related death in individuals under 50. Right now, we’re seeing it more often, and in more advanced stages, especially in younger otherwise healthy patients. In a high volume colorectal practice, these trends become very real, very quickly. And they demand a different level of precision, judgement, and adaptability. The good news is this: Outcomes today are not what they were even a decade ago. Robotic surgery has fundamentally changed how we care for these patients allowing for: · Greater precision in confined pelvic spaces · Improved nerve preservation and functional outcomes · Lower complication rates and faster recovery · The ability to manage increasingly complex disease minimally invasively Grateful to be part of a team at Sharp Health Care that prioritizes access to advanced platforms and supports delivering this level of care every day. We have an opportunity to change the trajectory of this disease through earlier detection, smarter intervention, and continued innovation.
