BRComment ‘bin night’ and i’ll DM you the automation link for the Shortcuts app or you can follow the steps below to set this up yourself:
1. Rename shortcut to what you want to say to Siri
2. Choose your icon image
3. Hit ‘Search Actions’ and search for ‘Date’. It’ll show as ‘Current Date’ which is fine.
4. Search for ‘Format Date’
5. Hit the arrow and change ‘Date Format’ to ‘Custom’
6. Edit the ‘Format String’ text to just ‘W’. Hit Done
7. Search ‘Get Numbers from Input’ and leave it as ‘Formatted Date’
8. Search for ‘Calculate’. Leave ‘Numbers’ as is. Tap the +, then the three dots and change ‘Scientific Operation’ to ‘Modulus’.
9. Now tap ‘Number’ next to the three dots and type in ‘2’.
10. Search for ‘If’
11. Leave ‘Calculate Results’ but change the number to 0.
12. Search for ‘Speak Text or ‘Show Alert’
13. Drag it up under ‘If’.
14. For ‘Speak’, press ‘Calculation Result’ then ‘Clear Variable’ and add your custom text you want Siri to read out to you for bin option 1.
15. Search for ‘Speak Text or ‘Show Alert’ again and drag it under ‘Otherwise’.
16. For ‘Speak’, press ‘Calculation Result’ then ‘Clear Variable’ and add your custom text you want Siri to read out to you for bin option 2.
17. For all ‘Show Alert’ options, drag up under ‘If’ and ‘Otherwise’ and tap ‘Do you want to continue?’, delete that text and add whatever you would like to roll down at the top of your screen and hit done. This can be text, emojis or a mix of both.

POLast year, I finally gave in and switched from Windows to Mac for work after using Windows for over 15 years.
While I absolutely loved the hardware, switching to a different operating system meant learning everything from scratch.
And the biggest issue? Having to learn all of my commonly used keyboard shortcuts from scratch.
