MAI almost didn’t post this because, let’s be honest—I don’t look my best here. Certainly not how I’d want to look on my public Instagram page. But that’s the reality of living with a spinal cord injury and a messed-up hormonal system. Cortisol isn’t my best friend right now.
Still, I refuse to let some steroids stop me from being me or from celebrating my birthday. Life isn’t always perfect—but we all want our lives to at least appear perfect on social media. Because who really wants their imperfections or insecurities out in the open for people to judge?
But the truth is—joy>>>> perfection.
And this day was pure joy.❤️
