Stellar birth shaping cosmic clouds ✨ This image shows Sh 2-106, or S106 for short. This is a compact star forming region in the constellation Cygnus (The Swan). A newly-formed star called S106 IR is shrouded in dust at the centre of the image, and is responsible for the surrounding gas cloud’s hourglass-like shape and the turbulence visible within. Light from glowing hydrogen is coloured blue in this image. The image combines observations from the Hubble Space Telescope (in the centre) with images from the National Astronomical Observatory of Japan’s Subaru Telescope to extend the field of view around the edges of the image. I also have a very small amount of Full-Sized Blue and Gold Planispheres as well as a small amount of seconds quality Full-sized Blue and Black planispheres. That was a lot of confusing and similar items so here’s a list because I find those easier to look at 😅… Now back… - Full-Sized Astrolabes - Mini Astrolabes - Full-Sized Black Planispheres - Full-Sized Blue Planispheres (limited) - Mini Blue Planispheres (limited) - Seconds Full-Sized Black Planispheres (very limited) - Seconds Full-Sized Blue Planispheres (limited) - Seconds Full-Sized Astrolabes (limited) I don’t have a Tuesday stationery release today, but I will have a little something for this Friday. If not, I’ll at least have a sneak peek of next week’s goodies! 👀 I was telling a friend yesterday how I designed the planispheres and astrolabes. I might go into more detail later for a reel, but the planispheres have as close to realistic star field as I could manage. I placed each of the dots for the stars while referencing a star chart. The Astrolabe is an amalgamation of at least two historical astrolabes. Unlike the planisphere, it isn’t functional as an astrolabe but I think it looks really cool. 😊 Head on over to my sh🫥p if you were waiting for any of these planispheres and astrolabes, lovelies! I remember when a brewery festival was my idea of the most fun thing I could possibly do (nevermind that I always felt like sh*t afterward). And things like stargazing or hiking or snorkeling barely got a "meh" out of me. "This is okay, but I sure can't wait for happy hour later!" Looking back I can see, I WAS BORED! And the idea that drinking is fun is something that was ingrained into my brain since I was a teenager. I didn't know what I liked. I didn't know what was fun for me. I didn't know what really brought me pleasure. And I certainly wasn't an active participant in creating my own fun. Imagine if we thought life wasn't fun without any other type of drug. As if we were born to be numbed instead of alive and experience the full sensory pleasure of this planet. That sounds pretty boring. See how you can flip the switch?
