ANI’ve now tested the @stewartgolf VERTX Remote electric golf trolley over 27 holes on two very contrasting golf courses, under very contrasting conditions. I’ll be testing it again over another 36 holes before I produce my full review, but here are my thoughts so far.

- Compact, easy to carry and very quick and straightforward to put up/take down
- Well made and sturdy, although a little on the heavier side
- Responsive and very easy to control using the remote. Helpful features like the emergency stop and slow stop buttons work well, as do the pre-set speed settings
- Handles undulations and slopes extremely well, even when steep. Speed is controlled based on severity of slope, so the trolley never races away from you. The four wheels and back wheels keep is balanced and stable at all times
- Range is excellent
- Battery life seems solid, easily managing 18 holes from a full charge with plenty left for at least another 9 comfortably (possibly 18) from 27 hole battery
- Mobile phone app to view charging status of battery is helpful, as is the app during use, but no visual indicator of level on battery/trolley itself
- Wheels provide sufficient traction during very wet and muddy use, and can be detached from motors to run free of power (for easy movement or if battery runs out)
- Remote is needs to be charged before use. Quick and easy to charge but no way of determining the battery level beyond a red light indicator when getting low

Obviously, I want to do a lot more testing before I create my review but I’m honestly so impressed with it thus far. I thought the remote control part might be a bit of a gimmick but it’s refreshing being able to just walk and focus on your golf without having to put effort into pulling, pushing or manoeuvring a trolley. It also helps take extra pressure/stress off your back. It’s incredibly well made and looks fantastic in the red/back colourway I’ve gone for. It’s not absolutely perfect, and there are a couple of minor niggles as mentioned above, and a few more I’ll outline in my review, but in truth, it’s pretty darn close and really is an excellent trolley.
