At 66 years old, I can confidently say I feel stronger and healthier than I did in my 40s. But it didn’t happen overnight—it came down to breaking some habits in my 50s that were holding me back. Here are 5 things I let go of that completely transformed my mind and body: 1️⃣ Limiting Alcohol: I realised that my nightly glass of wine wasn’t doing me any favours. Cutting back improved my sleep, boosted my energy, and even gave my skin a glow I hadn’t seen in years. 2️⃣ Saying Goodbye to Refined Sugar: This one was tough, but life-changing. I replaced sugary treats with healthier options, and the results were amazing—no more energy crashes, and I feel lighter and more in control. 3️⃣ Training Smarter: I used to think I had to train every day to see results, but now I train every other day, giving my body the time it needs to recover and grow stronger. 4️⃣ Moving Beyond Cardio: For so long, I thought cardio was enough. Once I added strength training to my routine, my body completely transformed—stronger muscles, better posture, and a boosted metabolism. 5️⃣ Prioritising Protein: I used to think salads and vegetables were all I needed to stay healthy, but I wasn’t giving my body the protein it needed to stay strong. Now, protein is the star of my meals, and the difference is incredible. Breaking these habits wasn’t easy, but the rewards have been worth it. I feel more vibrant, more energetic, and more confident than ever. What habits have you broken that changed your life?
