DUMBBELL BENCH PRESS TIPS 🏋🏾‍♂️ A lot of people can bench… But everybody ain’t benching safe or built for the long run. Here’s what I teach my athletes every time: ✅ 5 points of connection Feet. Glutes. Back. Head. Stability. ✅ Pack your shoulders Pull your shoulders away from your ears, down your back, and INTO the bench. ✅ Elbow tracking matters 45 degrees or tucked. If your elbows flare out at 90°, you’re putting unnecessary stress on your shoulders. We not just training to be strong TODAY… We training for durability, longevity, and performance. 🔥 Spotting Tip: When I spot dumbbell bench, I spot at the WRIST — because that’s where most people lose control first when the weight gets heavy. Why training the same way every day eventually stops working Most people think inconsistency is their problem. It’s not. The real issue is forcing the same output from a body running on completely different fuel each day. When your sleep is low, stress is high, and energy is gone , pushing through a brutal session doesn’t make you tougher. It’s like running 40 apps on a phone with 10% battery. The phone doesn’t care how motivated you are. It shuts down. High capacity days feel different. You slept. Your head is clear. Stress is manageable. That’s the day you go heavy, move through full range of motion, and keep the volume focused. Low capacity day? You pull back. Not because you’re soft but because that’s how you actually keep showing up. Train hard when capacity is high. Recover when it’s not. That’s where real strength comes from.
