KASome things just never leave you. ⚔️
Clash of Clans. I don’t even remember exactly when I started playing it but I know I was young and I know the moment I placed my first Cannon and built my first Town Hall, something in my brain just… clicked. And it never unclicked.
For anyone who doesn’t know Clash of Clans launched back in 2012 by Supercell, a Finnish company, and within like a year it had basically taken over the world. It was everywhere. Every kid had it. Every hostel, every school bus, every family gathering where you were supposed to be socialising everyone was just quietly raiding someone’s village. It became a cultural moment before we even had a word for that.
And the game itself is just genius honestly. You build your village, you train your troops, you join a clan, you attack other players, you defend your base. Sounds simple. Is absolutely not simple. There’s so much strategy behind it — the base layouts, the attack compositions, the war strategies with your clan. I’ve spent actual hours just watching attack replays trying to figure out what went wrong 😭
The biggest players and content creators in this game — guys like Galadon, Klaus, CorruptYT, Judo Sloth these were like celebrities to us. Watching their videos, learning new attack strategies, copying their base designs. That was the meta.
And the updates? Every single update felt like an event. New troops, new heroes, new spells the Barbarian King drop, the Grand Warden, the Royal Champion. Each one changed the entire game.
But here’s the thing. I still play it. Right now. Today.
And it’s not even like I sit down and grind it for hours anymore. It’s just… I’ll be in the middle of something completely unrelated and I’ll just pick up my phone and check. Are my troops trained? Did someone attack my village? How’s the clan war going? It’s like a reflex at this point. Every 5-10 minutes. No reason. Just checking. FOMO for a mobile game that I’ve been playing for over a decade 😄
The Barbarian still screams when you deploy him. The Builder still looks annoyed. The village still feels like mine.
Some things just don’t change. And honestly, I don’t want them to. 🏰⚔️
